GUIDELINES

As an event coordinator, United in Pink asks that you take responsibility for the following:

  • event expenses and promotional advertising
  • obtaining all applicable permits, licenses and insurance certificates
  • clearly identifying any sponsor, along with the amount or percentage of donations benefitting United in Pink

United in Pink will not be able to sponsor your event, and as a result, cannot do the following on your behalf:

  • sell tickets.
  • recruit sponsors.
  • reach out to celebrities.
  • promote your event on United in Pink social media pages.
  • promote or endorse any third-party cause, idea, political campaign, website, product or service.
  • provide tax receipts (under most circumstances; please contact United in Pink if you have questions).

United in Pink also cannot allow you to:

  • create your own materials using trademarks.
  • imply or state that United in Pink is the host, sponsor or endorser of your event.
  • establish or create a bank or holding account using the United in Pink name.
  • solicit donations at stores, gas stations, side-of-the-road collections, door-to-door, or via telemarketing, direct mail or vending machines.

While planning your event, please remember that the following are not permitted:

  • long-distance or point-to-point endurance events and/or record-setting endurance events
  • ideas requiring the acquisition, use or solicitation of United in Pink donors, vendors, partners, or employees
  • the use of professional fundraising organizations
  • events based on cause-marketing campaigns or promotions, percentage of sales, long-term fundraising, alcohol and/or drug-based events, apparel sales or events that are political, involve gambling, tobacco companies or products, firearms or are sexual in nature

Additional legal considerations:

  • Raffles, the purchase of a chance to win a prize, are governed by a variety of state and federal laws. Due to the complexities of these legal requirements, we strongly discourage third parties from conducting raffles as a method of fundraising. Applying for any kind of charitable raffle or charitable gaming permit using the United in Pink name is prohibited.
  • United in Pink reserves the right to terminate its relationship with any participant at any time for any reason.
  • Monetary donations to United in Pink are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws.
  • In no event shall United in Pink be liable to you or any third party for special, incidental, punitive or consequential damages.
  • You acknowledge that you participate in the United in Pink event at your own risk and that you will hold United in Pink, its agents and representatives harmless from any liability resulting from any injury, damage or loss suffered at an event.
  • The estimated cost per dollar raised of your event should not exceed 30%. Asking merchants and vendors to give goods or services to you to support your event can help reduce costs.
  • Event proceeds and associated paperwork should be submitted to United in Pink within 45 days of the event date.
  • All checks/donations should be made out directly to United in Pink. Credit card donations should be made through your Fundraising page.
  • While creating your advertising, promotional and marketing materials, United in Pink asks that you state that your event is "benefitting United in Pink®." Please do not use a United in Pink logo unless you have received written authorization.
