WHAT WE DO

United in Pink's programs and services address the diverse needs of breast cancer survivors and their families throughout Central Georgia. These offerings are provided at no cost, ensuring accessibility to all, regardless of their diagnosis, stage, demographics, or financial situation. Some of the impactful programs include:

    • Pink Packs: Offering comfort items to new referrals and newly diagnosed patients, as well as their family members, these packs promote physical and emotional well-being tailored to individual needs. 524 Pink Packs of Comfort were provided to families in 2023.
    • Quarterly family Programs: Throughout the year, we provide programs tailored to meet the needs of the survivor, their caregiver, and their children.
    • Children’s Program: Providing a 4-day Summer Camp in June with educational, creative, and recreational activities aimed at helping children cope with a loved one's diagnosis and build friendships.
    • Resource Room and Library: Offering essential items like bras, caps, wigs, and prosthetics, alongside a library of books to assist patients, caregivers, and children in coping with the impact of breast cancer.
    • Counseling: Providing individual, couple, and family counseling services to support emotional well-being, facilitated by a local counseling center and covered by United in Pink.
    • Survivorship Workshops: Hosting gatherings throughout the year to promote thriving and support after diagnosis, including sessions for survivors, caregivers, and the entire family.
    • Pink Bridge Financial Assistance: Alleviating the financial burden of breast cancer by providing support with rent, utilities, medical bills, food, and transportation costs, ensuring patients can complete treatment and support their families.
    • Additional Resources: Many local and national organizations are available to help lighten the load during your breast cancer journey. Here you will find organizations that provide assistance to eligible people; each program has its own specific criteria for eligibility.

These programs not only address the practical needs of patients and their families but also foster emotional resilience, promote healthy relationships, and create a supportive community environment. The holistic approach taken by United in Pink makes a significant impact on the lives of those affected by breast cancer in Central Georgia.
